Sandra Bell-McGinty, Ph.D. is a clinical neuropsychologist with over 25 years of experience in the field of aging and dementia.
Throughout her academic and professional career, she has specialized in the evaluation and diagnosis of memory disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and other age-related cognitive disorders.
Dr. Bell-McGinty performs neuropsychological evaluations investigating memory, attention, language, executive functioning, visuospatial skills, mood disorders, and personality functioning.
In addition to conducting neurocognitive evaluations, Dr. Bell-McGinty also has experience providing educational/supportive counseling to caregivers of those diagnosed with dementia.
Education & Training:
Dr. Bell-McGinty obtained her doctorate degree from Drexel University. After completing her clinical internship at Brown University, she completed 2 years of fellowship training at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh. She then went on to complete additional fellowship training at Columbia University. During her educational training, Dr. Bell-McGinty published multiple manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters and presented her work at several national conferences.
Professional Experience:
In 2006, Dr. Bell-McGinty began her professional career in neuropsychology in the Department of Neurology at Columbia University. She held the title of Assistant Clinical Professor of Neuropsychology at Columbia University Medical Center before opening her private practice in 2014.
Dr. Bell-McGinty has been featured as an expert on television’s ABC News Good Morning America.
